TO: Department of the Army
I have known Elizabeth for a considerable period of time.
I recommend Elizabeth for appointment to serve as an Army Officer with
great enthusiasm. She adapts well to difficult circumstances (dealing with
demanding and unreasonable clients in my law practice), and she is highly
resourceful (she has a "can do and shall do" personality and cheerfully
strives to find a solution to every problem).
Elizabeth looks forward to learning new tasks. She has never worked
in a law office prior to her employment here, and she quickly picks
up necessary knowledge and skills. She does legal research when asked to
do so, and acquires new skills and new vocabularly with full self confidence.
Her interpersonal skills are excellent: She is always pleasant and professional
when dealing with other lawyers.
I am very favorably impressed with Elizabeth's common sense and
Clinical Judgment. She is cautious when appropriate; she always prepares
a good foundation (asking probing questions and interviewing clients and
witnesses) before she writes a legal brief for me. Elizabeth is also
bold when appropriate; she argues her position with the tenacity of
a bulldog when she feels confident about her factual position. These
are impressive qualities that a person acquires over long years of
working with people. Elizabeth is detail oriented, and she works
diligently on every assigned task.
There is no doubt that Elizabeth is a person of great integrity.
She understands the necessity of making full disclosure, and her word
and her loyalty are always 100% reliable.
Elizabeth is a straight shooter -- she looks me in the eye
and concisely and accurately answers all questions. Her demeanor is
outstanding: She never overstates or exaggerates. She is tactful
with my colleagues and treats all of us with respect. She is
definitely deferential to authority.
Elizabeth is mature beyond her years. She functions well under pressure
and never displays any weakness when greater demands are placed on her time.
Given her youth and pleasant disposition, I would expect her stamina to be
excellent -- both mental and physical.
I am very pleased with Elizabeth's communication skills.
She returns client's call promptly and she is always polite and congenial.
Elizabeth is a leader -- she inspires confidence and enjoys
directing other people in their work. Elizabeth is an excellent
choice for a commision, and she would serve as an Officer with great
pride and honor.

I was very pleased that Elizabeth was promoted to 2nd Lt. based on my recommendation.
